(605) Peugeot 605 2.0 16-valve 350HP Project

Then I started installing the new Haltech E8 ECU systems.

These are the latest changes and modifications.


1. The car was taken back to HPS Motorsport Bulgaria, where the front brakes were finaly modified and installed:


2. Guys at Extreme Tuning finished the exhaust manifold. It was wrapped with thermal tape, the wastegate was installed at the best possible place:


3. The new turbocharger was placed at his place and the turbo pipes were finished:


4. The fixings of the intercooler were modified the best way at Extreme Tuning:


5. Then the car was driven to a friend of mine, where the drive shafts were fitted. New rear progressive springs SPAXX and KONI Special shock absorbers were installed:


Then the car took its last trip to my garage.


The car was welcomed by the youngest member of our family with enthusiasm and admiration:

Please have my apologies for the delay, but too much things happened this and last year. My brother in law was killed on June 29, and our lifes changes at 180 degrees.

However, life goes on, my project too.

Last time I posted picture in thit topic was on May 29, 2009. Here is what happened in the passed 16 months.

Me and my best friend build up new garage, new home of our two projects - Peugeot 605 2.0 16v Turbo and Peugeot 206 2.0 16v Turbo WRC Replica.





New projects - new demands ...... New Fronius welding machine was ordered from the UK.

Maybe you remember my SPAL fans ....


These monsters are too heavy to be mounted directly to the water radiator. We made custom alu frame to support the fans.

In case you have forgotten my gauges .... Here how the central console looks installed.




It is not finished yet, but when it will, I will post more pictures.

Good brakes have to be eqipped with good brake hoses.



These days I will change the brake lines too with new ones, plastic coated.

As regards the fuel system, I wanted to use an external Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump. But later on I changed my mind and prefered to stay with internal Walbro 255... from a UK seller ....

By the way, best prices are in the UK and in the USA, but after paying import fees, VAT and higher shipping costs for those parts from the USA, the UK sellers are preferrable.

I have no pictures of the fuel pump, but everybody knows Walbro pumps.

Genuine pug fuel lines were replaced by flexible braided stainless lines 8AN and 6AN.





Fixing back the fuel tank was one terrible horror ... I got mad, it took me about one hour to get it in its place.





New high quallity Earl's fittings will handle the high fuel pressure.





Huge 8AN fuel filter will take care of the smalles particlеs in the fuel.

The fuel regulator is Aeromotive. I purchased it together with the A1000 fuel pump and decided to keep the regulator after the pump got sold.





The Delphi Rochester 1000cc low impedance fuel injectors were purchased from Australia.





The original fuel rail was so small for my project. It was impossible to find any better rail, so I decided to do it myself.

The rail extrusion and special machining tool were ordered from Ross Machine Racing, USA.

I cut the lenght I needed and thread the ends for the 8AN fittings.





This is the final result.





As soon as possible I will prepare the fixing brackets and will tighten the rail to the intake manifold.

The genuine engine was turbocharged XU10J2TE with 8 valves only, not XU9J4. The head was taken from Citroen ZX Volcano, XU10J4 engine.

The rebuild engine has my 605's bottom with new custom pistons that are shorter than the original, the conrods are longer than the original.

The head was fully modified with stock N/A cams. The vacum pump was removed, the thermostat body was cut and modified, the upper covers will be modified too for better coils cooling.

At that time the car was with stock suspension and brakes, the engine was modified and working @ 0.6 bar .... this was its first day at track, the result was 1:01min (the record is 0:54min).
